Writing a bio freaks me out. It's like standing up in front of my third grade class, telling them all about my summer vacation.
So here goes. I'm over thirty but under forty, have blue eyes that squench up when I laugh, and just enough experience with the world to realize how little I really know. I live in Alabama with my hunky husband, brilliant children, and two spoiled-rotten dogs.
One of the questions I'm most often asked is "Are you really a girl?" The answer to that is yes. Even says so on my birth certificate.
I've been making up stories almost since I learned how to talk. When I was little, my grandmother vowed I'd either turn out to be a writer or the biggest liar in the state of Alabama. Since you're reading this bio, I suppose you can guess which one of those I picked.
I love being a writer. It touches a part of me nothing else can. I know that sounds flaky, but it's the best way I can describe it. If I go for long periods without writing, I turn into a cranky hornet. Needless to say, my family is rather supportive of my writing career.
I've been writing professionally for about six years now. I started out posting free to the Net and then went on to sell some of my stuff. Along the way, I've garnered what I believe to be the best readership in the world. My readers are loving, loyal, and awesome beyond comprehension. You all honor me with your continued presence, and I love you for it.
I write in a wide variety of genres and cover a host of subjects, but my heart will always be with romance. There's something magical about two people (be they gay, straight, or in-between) finding each other and fighting against all odds to reach happily ever after. If my characters and their stories can make that magic real for just one other person--can take his mind off his troubles or make her day seem just a little bit brighter--then I feel like I've done something important. Above all, I strive to be the blessing to my readers that they are to me.
